A fresh crisis is reportedly brewing within the Allied Peoples Movement over allegations that the party’s nomination process ahead of the 2027 general elections may have been compromised.
Party sources alleged that nomination forms were being reserved for politicians loyal to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who recently joined the party.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to insiders, only aspirants considered politically aligned with the two governors were allegedly granted access to nomination forms, while several other interested contenders were reportedly sidelined.
One aggrieved aspirant, who spoke anonymously, accused party leaders of deliberately frustrating attempts by some members to participate in the nomination process.
The source claimed that repeated efforts to obtain nomination forms were allegedly ignored without any official explanation from party authorities.
Attempts to reach the National Chairman of the APM, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, for clarification reportedly proved unsuccessful as calls and text messages sent to him were not responded to as of the time of filing the report.
While Bala Mohammed is said to have completed his defection to the party, Makinde is reportedly expected to formally join the APM and declare his presidential ambition on Thursday.
The development has reportedly intensified political alignments and internal manoeuvring within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Sources within the party also alleged that the crisis was worsened by the slow pace of membership registration, which they claimed remained largely manual and controlled by a small group of officials.
It was further gathered that several new members had allegedly been unable to confirm their membership status or access party credentials needed for participation in internal processes.

Some dissatisfied aspirants insisted that despite meeting all necessary conditions, they were deliberately excluded from the nomination process.
They described the alleged arrangement as exclusionary, unfair and capable of creating deeper divisions within the party ahead of the elections.
