Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has said there is no official endorsement from Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship election, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, Jandor dismissed speculations that any aspirant, including Obafemi Hamzat, has secured presidential backing.

According to him, Hamzat has not even publicly declared his intention to contest the election.
“He hasn’t even told us himself that he is running. He is the deputy governor, qualified, with over 20 years of experience,” Jandor said.
He also noted that the All Progressives Congress has not issued any directive suggesting a consensus candidate, adding that the party is expected to adopt direct primaries.
“As we speak, the party says it’s going to be direct primaries. If tomorrow it says otherwise, we will follow. The party is supreme,” he stated.
On claims that Tinubu may have anointed a preferred candidate, Jandor insisted no such communication has been made to aspirants.
“The President hasn’t endorsed anyone. Those of us running will be the first to know if that happens,” he added.
Jandor further revealed that he had met with the President, who neither discouraged his ambition nor promised him the party’s ticket.

Defending his early declaration, he said it reflects confidence in his aspiration, stressing that political ambition requires self-belief.
He also claimed that Lagos politics is becoming increasingly unified, asserting that opposition voices are gradually fading.
Despite his ambition, Jandor maintained that he would support the APC if he fails to secure the party’s ticket.
