According to police findings, the victim was lured with promises of a legitimate job as a supermarket salesgirl abroad. However, upon arrival, she was subjected to exploitation and harsh conditions.
A police source disclosed that Faith and other victims were allegedly forced into sexual activities and given substances believed to be used to control them.
Despite the ordeal, the victim managed to escape from the facility where she was held and navigated her way to safety, eventually contacting her family.
Confirming the development, police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh said the case was first reported by the victim’s mother at the Okitipupa Police Division.

He explained that the police immediately initiated efforts to secure Faith’s return to Nigeria. Upon arrival, she was taken to a specialist hospital in Okitipupa for urgent medical attention due to the trauma she experienced.
Jimoh added that intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of the two suspects, who are now assisting with investigations.
“Efforts are ongoing to arrest the third suspect and dismantle the wider trafficking network involved in this crime,” he said, noting that the suspects would be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
The police condemned the act, describing it as a grave violation of human dignity, and reassured the public of their commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice.
He also urged parents and guardians to be cautious when verifying overseas job opportunities and encouraged members of the public to report suspicious activities to security agencies.
