Man Beaten To Coma For Stealing, Arrested Again Days After Being Discharged

A 25-year-old man landed in the hospital after being beaten to a coma for stealing a mobile phone in Lagos.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the patrol team of the Rapid Response Squad, Lagos Police Command arrested a man identified as ‪Chinedu Ike for stealing phones in Lagos.

Chinedu, aged 25, was initially rescued from jungle justice by the RRS Patrol team in September 2022 in Iyana Oworo over the theft of a phone. ‬

‪He had been beaten to a coma by eyewitnesses before he was rushed to the hospital by the team and later discharged after some days.‬

Information made available by the RRS team revealed that Chinedu sneaked into a car that was parked by the roadside to steal the driver’s phone.

He was said to have committed the crime on Monday using his usual style, but the driver was hinted by eyewitnesses, which led to his arrest by the patrol team.
