Video footage appeared to show the Learjet 55, a twin-engine business jet, descending sharply toward a residential area, erupting into a massive fireball on impact, and scattering debris across homes and vehicles.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) identified the aircraft as a Learjet 55, which had taken off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport just before 6:00 pm (2300 GMT) en route to Branson, Missouri.
Among the victims were a young girl who had been in the U.S. for medical treatment, her mother, and members of the medical and flight crew, all of whom were killed in the crash.

Shriners Children’s Philadelphia, the hospital where the girl had received care, confirmed the tragic loss. “The patient had received care from Shriners Children’s Philadelphia and was being transported back to Mexico when the crash occurred,” said Mel Bower, a spokesperson for the hospital.
The Mexican Foreign Ministry confirmed that all six individuals onboard were Mexican nationals. Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, the operator of the flight, stated that two passengers and four crew members were aboard, but did not provide any information on potential survivors.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene near Roosevelt Mall in Northeast Philadelphia, where the wreckage was scattered. Witnesses reported seeing body parts near the crash site, and local officials feared that those on the ground may have been killed as well.
