Renowned gospel artist Mercy Chinwo has addressed the ongoing dispute between her and her former manager, Ezekiel ThankGod, also known as Eezeetee.

The singer explained that their professional relationship began when she worked as his backup vocalist in Port Harcourt. In 2017, the two signed a contract, which led to the success of her hit song, Excess Love.

However, Mercy revealed that issues began to surface by late 2019, worsening the following year.

She accused Eezeetee of forging a new 25-page contract in 2019 that fraudulently granted him lifetime ownership of her music catalog, making it appear as an extension of their original 2017 agreement.

Attempts to reconcile the matter, including interventions by Apostle Anselm Madubuko, reportedly failed.

Mercy also accused Eezeetee of withholding $274,000 in digital revenue, which was later recovered following an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2024.

During the EFCC probe, Eezeetee allegedly admitted to manipulating her with a different contract and pleaded for an amicable settlement.

However, Mercy claimed he later filed a lawsuit against her, fellow artist Judikay, and the EFCC.

The EFCC, in turn, charged Eezeetee with fraud, issuing an arrest warrant that was later withdrawn after his lawyer’s intervention.
