Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has accused her former manager, Ezekiel ThankGod, also known as Eezeetee, of sponsoring false rumors about her son and spreading misinformation regarding her personal life.
The singer, visibly emotional, addressed the controversy in a video shared on social media on Tuesday.

Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 28, 2023. However, soon after, rumors began circulating that the baby was fathered by fellow gospel musician Nathaniel Bassey.
In her recent video, Chinwo directly linked her ex-manager to these false allegations, stating that he paid bloggers to spread the misinformation.
“One of my major crimes was when I did a song with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, he went as far as sponsoring fake news about an innocent child, my son; and you said my son was not my son and you paid bloggers,” Chinwo said, breaking down in tears.

The ‘Excess Love’ singer also accused Ezekiel of trying to control her interactions with other gospel ministers, including Pastor Jerry Eze.
According to her, he would discourage her from attending events associated with individuals he disliked and would harass her if she questioned his reasons.
Chinwo reiterated several concerns raised earlier by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, in a statement shared on January 25. She clarified that she had not taken any legal action against Ezekiel regarding her music catalog and accused him of playing the “victim” despite being a “bully.”

The singer further revealed that the toxicity of her relationship with Ezekiel was so intense that she felt compelled to relocate from Port Harcourt to Lagos for her peace of mind.
“You have bloggers, I have God,” Chinwo stated, affirming her faith that the truth would prevail despite the attacks against her.

As of now, Ezekiel ThankGod has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
