Residents of Kasarami Village along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway have commended the Nigerian military for constructing a borehole and a block of classrooms in the community.

The people said the borehole would reduce their hardship in terms of accessing potable water.

Addressing the locals while commissioning the borehole and block of classrooms constructed by Operation Thunder Strike, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, tasked the residents to live in peace with one another irrespective of tribal and religious affiliations.

Aruwan added that, “We hope the borehole and the block of classrooms provided to you will go a long way to better your lives. We hope your community will also benefit from the Primary Health Care (PHC) clinic.”

He also urged the people to always assist security agencies with information that would help improve security along the highway.

In his remarks, Operation Thunder Strikes Sector Commander, Col. Ibrahim Gambari, said more than 10 boreholes were provided in communities along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway, particularly in joint operation areas.

Col. Gambari said the gesture was part of the military/civil relations to win the minds and hearts of the people in rural communities.

He added that trucks of fertiliser were also bought and distributed to farmers in the communities to enable them farm with ease.
