The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that Mirabel, the TikTok user whose viral sexual assault allegation generated widespread reactions online, has been discharged from hospital and is currently assisting police with ongoing investigations.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this during an interview with News Central Television on Friday, outlining the events that followed Mirabel’s visit to the police station.

According to Babaseyi, Mirabel voluntarily presented herself at the Ibafo Police Division to lodge a complaint. However, when officers attempted to debrief her, they observed that she was not coherent enough to provide a detailed account of the alleged incident.
“The Divisional Police Officer tried to debrief her to obtain the facts of the case, but she wasn’t coherent at that point, so she was promptly taken to a state hospital for medical attention,” Babaseyi said.
She explained that given the seriousness of the allegations contained in Mirabel’s viral TikTok posts and related content circulating on X, the police treated the matter as a presumed case of sexual assault and prioritised her health.
“She was admitted into the ICU. We acted in good faith and ensured she received prompt medical care. At no time was she arrested. As a presumed victim of sexual assault, her welfare was our priority,” the spokesperson added.
Babaseyi confirmed that Mirabel has since been discharged from the hospital and is now with the police as investigators work to determine the facts of the case.

“She has been happily discharged and is with us so we can further the investigation and reach a logical conclusion on whether the allegations are true or not,” she said.
The controversy began after Mirabel, known on TikTok as @mirab351, posted a distressing video alleging that an unidentified individual broke into her apartment, assaulted and raped her, and later sent threatening messages. She also claimed the trauma led her to attempt suicide.
The video sparked outrage and sympathy across social media, with many users demanding swift justice. Initial assumptions linked the alleged incident to Lagos State, but preliminary findings later indicated that it occurred in Ogijo, Ogun State, transferring jurisdiction to the Ogun State Police Command.
Amid online speculation, rumours surfaced that Mirabel had been arrested for allegedly fabricating the claim. The police have firmly denied those reports, reiterating that she voluntarily approached the police and was never taken into custody.
The command urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information and assured that the matter is being handled professionally.
