The Kaduna State Police Command has detained a couple following the death of a teenage boy in the Kurmin-Mashi area of the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the development, saying an investigation has commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to Hassan, the incident occurred on Sunday night along Dahiru Road in Kurmin-Mashi.
Preliminary findings indicate that the teenager was allegedly punished by his mother and stepfather over money said to have gone missing.

The police explained that the boy had reportedly been sent to withdraw money from a point-of-sale (POS) operator before questions later arose concerning the transaction.
Following the report, the couple was taken into custody as detectives began investigations into the incident.
“The suspects are currently in police custody while investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the next line of action,” Hassan said.
The police have yet to disclose the identity of the deceased or provide further details as investigations continue.
