According to the source, security operatives quickly intervened, helping to restore order and evacuate those affected from the collapsed section.
The incident occurred during the inauguration of canvassers for Governor Adeleke’s re-election campaign in Ijebu-Jesa, Ori-Ade Local Government Area of Osun State, where supporters and party officials had gathered in large numbers.

The governor was on the stage alongside his sister, Chief Modupe Adeleke, Chief of Staff Kazeem Akinleye, and other government officials when part of the platform reportedly gave way, causing some attendees to fall.
Despite the disruption, the programme reportedly continued shortly after, with the governor addressing supporters at the venue.
The source explained that there were no casualties recorded, noting that the event was able to proceed because the situation was quickly brought under control.
“The event was for the inauguration of Imole canvassers for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency. The crowd was quite large, and the section of the stage where the governor and some cabinet members were seated collapsed.

No one was injured, and the programme continued afterward, with the governor speaking to supporters,” the source said.
Confirming the incident, the deputy spokesperson to the governor, Oladele Bamiji, described the situation as less severe than reported in some quarters.
He reiterated that no injuries were recorded and that the governor continued his engagements after addressing the crowd.
According to him, the programme proceeded smoothly after the brief interruption, adding that Governor Adeleke later left for another event in Odo-Otin Local Government Area.
