EKO HOT BLOG reports that The coordinated strikes, carried out under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) on Saturday, July 6, 2025, targeted Wa Jahode and Loghpere, two heavily fortified hideouts of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram.
In a statement released on Monday, the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed that the air raids followed extensive Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that uncovered increased terrorist activity in the region.
“The high-profile targets, Wa Jahode and Loghpere, have long served as fortified enclaves for the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad faction of Boko Haram,” Ejodame said.
According to him, the ISR missions revealed the presence of logistics warehouses, solar-powered installations, black flags, and well-protected compounds, suggesting a renewed buildup by the terrorist faction for potential large-scale attacks.
During the airstrikes, NAF fighter jets bombed several key terrorist facilities, including command centres, logistics hubs, and fortified shelters hidden within the mountain range that stretches along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon.
“Several terrorists were neutralised in the operation, effectively disrupting their supply chain and significantly reducing their capacity to launch further offensives,” Ejodame noted.
The Air Force described the operation as a strategic success, emphasizing that the destruction of Boko Haram’s critical logistics and operational hubs in Wa Jahode and Loghpere would severely weaken the group’s ability to regroup or plan coordinated assaults.
“The Nigerian Air Force remains resolute in sustaining the ongoing onslaught against terrorists and restoring lasting peace to all troubled regions across the country,” the statement concluded.
The Mandara Mountains, known for their rugged, remote terrain, have long provided a safe haven for Boko Haram and other terrorist factions. Their proximity to Cameroon and challenging accessibility have made the area a persistent insurgent stronghold.

Saturday’s successful strikes form part of intensified military operations aimed at eradicating remaining Boko Haram elements and dismantling insurgent networks in the North-East, particularly those protecting high-ranking commanders and critical assets.
