The Senate arm of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to protect Interior Minister Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo from what they termed fabricated NYSC scandals designed to tarnish his reputation.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a strong statement signed by NANS Senate President Usman Adamu Nagwaza, the student body argued that Nigeria cannot afford to lose the “resourceful, visionary, and result-oriented” Minister, whose dedication drives the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

NANS labeled the recent allegations as “laughable and suspicious,” noting they only emerged after the Minister’s significant achievements in office.

Nagwaza questioned why these “self-acclaimed crusaders” stayed silent during Tunji-Ojo’s successful tenure as a House of Representatives member and his rigorous screening and ratification as Minister.
The student leader asserted that the sudden attacks now, when the Minister is “breaking records and transforming the Ministry of Interior,” clearly expose the mischief and envy of his detractors.
Nagwaza condemned the attempts as a “failed smear campaign” and a desperate effort to distract from Tunji-Ojo’s “laudable achievements.”

NANS praised President Tinubu for his “visionary leadership” in appointing Tunji-Ojo, calling the choice one of the most impactful of the administration.
They concluded by urging the President to use every means necessary to protect the Minister, whom they view as a “symbol of excellence” for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
