Silas, who attempted to resist arrest, was overpowered by vigilant lawyers led by David Omage, Esq., and later handed over to the Ovwian Police Division.
The NBA Udu Branch Chairman, Edmund Odohisi, confirmed the incident and emphasized the association’s zero-tolerance policy toward quacks infiltrating the legal profession.
“The Divisional Police Officer has assured a thorough investigation to deter others engaging in similar acts,” Odohisi stated.

He further highlighted the NBA’s commitment to preserving the profession’s integrity, adding that such proactive measures are essential to curbing impersonation.
Barr. Simon Sabuke, the impersonated lawyer, revealed that he was alerted by a senior colleague and found Silas in the act when he arrived. “He denied knowing me, but when confronted, he attempted to fight Omage. We subdued him and called the police,” Sabuke recounted.
The NBA Udu Branch has previously issued warnings about impersonation, including the misuse of NBA car stickers by non-lawyers. This latest development reinforces their resolve to address such issues.
