- Wilfred Ndidi is set to match his best goal tally in a season with his next appearance for Leicester City.
- Ndidi best goal tally came during the 2016/17 season when he scored five goals.
- A win against Southampton would greatly enhance Leicester’s promotion prospects.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Wilfred Ndidi is poised to equal his personal best goal tally in a single season when he plays his 30th Championship match for Leicester City against Southampton on Tuesday.

Ndidi scored his fifth goal of the season during his 270th appearance for the club in a thrilling 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in a Midlands derby last Saturday, helping propel Leicester to the top of the English Championship table.
The 27-year-old midfielder, currently ranked third in assists for the club with six, has found the back of the net five times in 33 appearances across all competitions this campaign.
Ndidi’s best-ever tally in Europe since he arrived in 2014 was during the 2016/17 season when he scored six goals in 57 games for Belgian side Genk and Leicester.
Ndidi scored twice over two legs against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League while playing for Genk.
He also scored once in the Belgian Cup. When he joined Leicester during the winter transfer window of that season, he found the target three times for the Foxes.
Leicester currently tops the EFL table with 91 points from 43 games. A victory against the Saints could significantly enhance their promotion chances with only two games left to play.
The match will also provide Nigerian duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Joe Aribo with opportunities to increase their goal tally for the season.
Iheanacho, who has only played 45 minutes in the league in 2024, will be looking to benefit from Enzo Maresca’s rotation, as Jamie Vardy rarely starts two consecutive games.

Iheanacho faces stiff competition from Patson Daka and Tom Cannon, with Daka boasting more goals (seven) and assists (five) than him.
Aribo, on the other hand, has scored four times in 32 league games and will aim to score in consecutive games for the first time this season.
