According to the formal request letter earlier delivered to the palace, the NDLEA team sought to pay homage to the traditional institution, seek royal blessings, and strengthen collaboration in the fight against drug abuse and related crimes.
Reaffirming their mission, the NDLEA delegation emphasized the importance of working closely with community stakeholders.
“The War Against Drug Abuse campaign is not a fight NDLEA can win alone. We need the support of our royal fathers, opinion leaders, and community members to ensure our youths are protected from the dangers of illicit drugs,” the officials stated.
In his response, Oba (Tpl) AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa commended the NDLEA for taking proactive steps to build community trust and collaboration.
“We are fully in support of your efforts. The palace will work hand in hand with NDLEA to mobilize our people towards building a drug-free society.
The future of our community depends on protecting our youths from drug abuse,” the monarch said.
The monarch further highlighted the need for sustained sensitization campaigns and grassroots partnerships, assuring the agency that the palace would continue to provide the moral and cultural backing necessary to win the war against drug abuse.
The visit not only strengthened ties between the NDLEA and the traditional institution but also reinforced the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in safeguarding the community from the scourge of drugs.
