Nigerian media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his departure from The Honest Bunch podcast, citing mounting scrutiny and controversy.
His resignation comes in the wake of a heated episode featuring comedian and reality TV star Deeone, who alleged that social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) was attracted to men.

This claim sparked a response from VDM, who accused Nedu of persistently inviting him to the podcast since 2024 and even offering to buy him a car as an incentive.
VDM further claimed that Nedu’s repeated attempts to bring him on the show suggested a hidden agenda, potentially linked to Deeone’s allegations.
In addition, VDM issued a stern warning through his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, threatening to expose alleged dealings involving female celebrities if Nedu continued to engage with him.
Amid the growing controversy, Nedu took to Instagram on Friday to release a statement explaining his decision to step down.
He acknowledged the immense pressure that had accompanied his role as host and emphasized that the accusations against him were unfounded.
“The past week has brought a lot into perspective for me. Hosting The Honest Bunch Podcast has been an incredible journey, one built on open conversations, bold perspectives, and the willingness to tackle difficult topics. But with that responsibility has come an overwhelming level of scrutiny, antagonism, and unfounded accusations that have now begun to take a personal toll,” Nedu wrote.
He expressed that his exit was necessary for his personal well-being, his family, and the credibility of the podcast, hoping his resignation would put an end to the ongoing controversy.
“In light of recent events, I have made the difficult decision to step away from the podcast. This is not a decision I take lightly, but one I believe is necessary, for my peace of mind, for my family, and for the integrity of the show itself. I have always been committed to honest conversations, but when those conversations lead to relentless attacks and misrepresentation, it becomes clear that stepping back is the best path forward,” he stated.
Nedu concluded by wishing the podcast continued success and thanking supporters who had stood by him throughout his journey.
