The Governor of Niger state, Abubakar Sani Bello, has promised that the state government would commence the payment of the new 30,000 minimum wage.

The governor announced this in a statement by his public enlightenment officer, Abdullbergy Ebbo.

Ebbo noted the state government would commence the payment of the approved N30,000 as soon as the ongoing workers verification was concluded.

He furthered revealed that the workers verification exercise has helped the state to uncover 1,000 ghost workers in the state, which has resulted to the recovery of over N300M.

Ebbo said “the money discovered was immediately used to effect the promotion of over 10,000 workers in the state. The highest in the state by any government.”
