Nigerian Duo Lookman, Chukwueze Make Serie A’s Top Dribblers List

  • Lookman ranks 22nd in Serie A with 27 successful dribbles and 13 goals this season.
  • Chukwueze completes 2.2 dribbles per 90 mins despite limited game time at Milan.
  • Both players join Nigeria’s squad for key World Cup qualifiers vs Rwanda, Zimbabwe.

Nigeria’s attacking stars Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze have been ranked among the top 50 dribblers in the Italian Serie A for the ongoing 2024/25 season, according to stats released by Euro Football Rumours.

The pair are the only Nigerian internationals featured in the list, which ranks players based on the number of successful dribbles completed in Italy’s top division.

EDITOR’S PICKS

Lookman, who plays for Atalanta, leads the Nigerian charge, having completed 27 dribbles in 23 league matches—an average of 1.2 dribbles per game. That places him 22nd overall in Serie A’s dribbling rankings. More than just a skillful winger, Lookman has also delivered in front of goal, netting 13 times and providing five assists—making him one of the league’s standout performers this season.

Meanwhile, AC Milan’s Chukwueze comes in at 40th on the list with 20 successful dribbles, a position he shares with four other players including Napoli’s Frank Anguissa. Notably, Chukwueze has achieved this despite limited game time—logging only 796 minutes across 21 appearances and starting just nine times. He averages an impressive 2.2 dribbles per 90 minutes but has managed just three league goals due to his sporadic involvement.

Topping the dribbling charts is Como’s Nico Paz with 57 completed dribbles, followed by Milan’s Rafael Leão (50), Venezia’s Gaetano Oristanio (48), Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz (45), and Lazio’s Nuno Tavares (44).

As Serie A takes a break for international fixtures, both Lookman and Chukwueze have joined Nigeria’s national team camp in Kigali ahead of crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The Super Eagles will face Rwanda on March 21 at the Amahoro Stadium and Zimbabwe four days later.

Lookman is widely expected to start for the Super Eagles, given his strong club form and attacking impact, while Chukwueze may face competition for a starting spot due to his limited minutes at Milan.
