Governors under the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) are held a physical meeting at the Forum’s secretariat in Abuja, addressing pressing national concerns.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that initially scheduled for 8:00 AM, the meeting experienced delays as only a handful of governors arrived on time.
As at the time of filing this report, those that present were Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Others in attendance include Ebonyi Governor Francis Nwifuru, Gombe Governor Inuwa Yahaya, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris, and Kogi Governor Usman Ododo.
The agenda, shared with journalists, outlines key topics for discussion, including the collection of stamp duties, reconciliation of royalties accounts, and progress updates on the Africa Investment Forum (AIF).
These discussions are expected to address financial and economic challenges faced by states while exploring opportunities for investment and development across the continent.
A highlight of the meeting will be a presentation by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, on the ongoing constitutional amendment efforts spearheaded by the National Assembly.
