Nigerian Navy Launches ‘Crocodile Lift’ Exercise

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has launched the third edition of the French-supported maritime exercise, Crocodile Lift, designed to enhance skills in amphibious operations.

Representing Vice Admiral Ogalla at the event was the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Naval Doctrine Command, Rear Admiral Shehu Gombe. The event was held on Saturday aboard the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) KADA at the Western Naval Command in Lagos.

The naval chief noted that the exercise is akin to the recently concluded Ex Grand African Nemo and provides a platform for regional and international partners to collaborate on shared security objectives. The focus is on deploying African-led strategies to address transborder threats and maritime challenges.

Vice Admiral Ogalla reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s dedication to fostering regional cooperation and ensuring the security of the maritime domain to promote economic prosperity.
