A viral video on Tuesday captures a peaceful protest organized by some Ghanaian citizens against Nigerians citing concerns over the rise in killings and prostitution in the country.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that protesters posit that Nigerians have become a major cause for concern contributing to increased insecurity, such as armed robbery and attacks against the locals.

The protesters in their placards called the government to address the issue and demanded that Nigerians exit the country.
The citizens were infuriated with the recent death of a fellow citizen who was allegedly killed by a Nigerian from one of the photographs displayed on the placards believed to be the man who was allegedly killed.
According to a protester, Nigerians have caused the Ghanaians a lot of trouble for their “anyhow” behaviour, grown out of control in their markets and continued to perpetuate evil.

In the video, an unidentified lady said:
“Nigerians must leave. They can’t be doing anything they like in someone’s country.”
“They are everywhere. Our markets and in all our villages allowing them to perpetuate evil since our laws do not limit foreigner’s dealings.”
Ekohotblog recalls that a similar event involving both countries in 1983 which gave birth to the popular “Ghana must go” phenomenon as a result of the Nigerian government’s move against illegal immigrants under the reign of President Sheu Shagari.
As of now, neither the Ghanaian or the Nigerian Government has commented on the protest.
