President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence that Nigeria’s economy has recovered and that ongoing security operations are delivering improved results through stronger coordination among security and intelligence agencies.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this on Tuesday after leading the National Communications Team to a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The delegation comprised members of the Presidential Media Team and heads of government information agencies, including the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the Voice of Nigeria (VON) and the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
Speaking after the meeting, Idris said the engagement provided an opportunity to review public perception of government policies and receive fresh guidance from the President on the administration’s communication strategy.
“We thought it was important to continuously talk to Mr President, to hear from him, and to tell him what we are doing,” the minister said.
He explained that the communication team also briefed the President on citizens’ reactions to government policies to improve public engagement.
According to Idris, Tinubu said his administration’s economic reforms were beginning to yield tangible results and had positioned the country for sustained growth.
“The President has told us several times the economy is turning the corner. We now know that the economy has turned the corner,” he said.
On security, Idris said the President acknowledged that challenges remain in some parts of the country but expressed optimism that ongoing operations were producing better outcomes through enhanced collaboration among security and intelligence agencies.
“Government is strategising and working with the security agencies. You can see the better coordination this time around,” Idris stated.
He attributed the improved synergy among security agencies to the President’s leadership and commitment to restoring peace across the country.
The minister added that Tinubu emphasised the need for sustained engagement with Nigerians to ensure government policies are better understood and public feedback is incorporated into governance.
On media relations, Idris said the President reaffirmed his commitment to press freedom while urging journalists to uphold professionalism and responsibility in their reporting.
“The media will continue to have freedom to do their work. But freedom also has to come with responsibility,” he said.
Tinubu also called for closer collaboration between the government and the media to combat fake news, misinformation and disinformation, especially with the growing influence of artificial intelligence.
