EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ojulari made the disclosure on Thursday while receiving a delegation of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), led by its President, Comrade Festus Osifo, at the NNPCL headquarters in Abuja. He said his “offence” was the series of reforms being introduced in line with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to revive Nigeria’s moribund refineries.
The NNPCL boss lamented that some “powerful elements” were making attempts to oust him from office, stressing that the resistance was tied to the changes he has embarked upon.
“This is about the reforms we are introducing. I’m not hiding from anybody. I’m not a politician. I will have to learn a bit more about politics, but for me this is a development plan, and I am ready to learn,” he stated.
His comments follow recent reports that he had been forced to resign by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), an allegation strongly denied by both agencies and the Presidency.
Ojulari reaffirmed that the company was committed to restoring the country’s refineries to full operational capacity, noting that management was considering adopting the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) model as part of its long-term strategy to drive efficiency and sustainability.
Despite the alleged threats, he vowed to remain resolute in delivering the refinery turnaround project to completion.

Earlier, PENGASSAN President Festus Osifo had expressed concern about stability within the NNPCL and the wider oil sector. In response, Ojulari assured stakeholders that the company remained committed to transparency, reforms, and repositioning the oil industry to meet national energy demands.
