Ajibola Bashiru, National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reiterated that the North remains firmly behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election, dismissing any claims of a coordinated opposition.
Eko Hot Blog reports that on Monday at a media roundtable hosted by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone B, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Bashiru rejected allegations of a northern plot against Tinubu’s 2027 ambition, describing them as “a lie from the pit of hell.”

He emphasized that the president continues to receive a warm welcome in key northern cities such as Katsina, Kaduna, Kano, and Gombe.
“It’s a lie from the pit of hell to claim the North is ganging up against Tinubu. I say this from a position of knowledge.
“I am not a flimsy person. I guide myself by Amilcar Cabral’s words: ‘Tell no lies, claim no easy victories’,” Bashiru added.
The APC National Secretary emphasized that northern support for President Tinubu remains solid, noting widespread street celebrations in several states, including Kano, Katsina, and Gombe.

Bashiru highlighted that Dauda Kahutu Rarara’s song “Omo Ologo” in support of Tinubu has gained popularity and is now widely embraced in many northern communities.
He also dismissed the newly established opposition coalition, labeling it a fringe group made up of self-interested individuals with little to no political significance.
