NYCN Epe Commends Leaders, Stakeholders for Efforts in Restoring Electricity

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Epe Branch, has expressed deep appreciation to key political leaders, royal fathers, clerics, security agencies, and community stakeholders for their joint commitment and collaborative efforts towards restoring electricity supply to Epe Central.

Ekohotblog gathers that in an official statement, the NYCN acknowledged the significant roles played by the Governor of Lagos State, the Honorable Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, the Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Energy and Mineral Resources (Hon. Abiola Olowu), and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Special recognition was also given to Hon. Tobun Abiodun (LAHA Epe 1), Hon. Wale Raji (Member, House of Representatives, Epe Federal Constituency), Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun (Chairman, Epe Local Government), Hon. Wale Raji Anomo (Chairman, Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA), and Hon. Monsuru Akinloye (Chairman, Eredo LCDA) for their relentless dedication to resolving the power outage crisis.

The council also paid tribute to the royal fathers, including Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, Oloja of Epe, and Oba Shefiu Adewale, Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, as well as the clerics, Ikeja Electric, security agencies, stakeholders, and the resilient youths of Epe.

Prolonged electricity outages in Epe Central, caused by faults on the three major feeders supplying power to the area, have significantly impacted residents and businesses, disrupting daily activities and economic productivity.

Acknowledging the hardship faced by the community, NYCN assured residents that Ikeja Electric’s technical team is on ground, working tirelessly to identify and repair the faults affecting the feeders.

Speaking on the issue, Hon. Abiodun Tobun emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating, “We understand the inconvenience this has caused, and we are fully committed to ensuring that Epe Central benefits from reliable electricity supply, just as other areas like Ikosi-Ejirin LCDA and Eredo LCDA have continued to enjoy stable power.”

Echoing this sentiment, Hon. Wale Raji highlighted the importance of electricity to community development, saying, “Electricity is the backbone of economic growth.

We are sparing no effort in ensuring that power is restored as soon as possible to enable our people to return to their normal activities.”

The NYCN commended the people of Epe for their patience and resilience throughout the power outage period, urging the community to remain vigilant and safeguard the electricity infrastructure to prevent future theft and vandalism of cables.

Moibi Ibrahim, the Epe Coordinator of NYCN, emphasized the role of community collaboration, stating,

“The unity displayed by our leaders and residents in tackling this issue is commendable.

We are confident that with continued cooperation, Epe Central will soon enjoy stable electricity supply.”

He further appreciated the youths for their patience and active participation in safeguarding the infrastructure, encouraging them to remain proactive in community development initiatives.

The statement concluded on a hopeful note, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration in building a brighter and more prosperous Epe.

“We appreciate the dedication, sacrifice, and relentless efforts of all stakeholders involved in this process.

Together, we will overcome this challenge and continue to make Epe a central of progress and development,” said Moibi Ibrahim.
