According to court documents, the suspect allegedly inflicted injuries on his wife and threatened her over access to a 10-room apartment the couple jointly built. Prosecutors cited offences under the Ogun State Criminal Code and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law.
Magistrate P. O. Odunsi adjourned the case until 17 October for further hearing on the bail application.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed Quadri’s arrest, noting that the assault stemmed from a marital dispute reportedly linked to allegations of infidelity and property ownership. Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola said the victim is receiving medical treatment while investigations continue.

The state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, condemned the attack, stressing the command’s zero tolerance for gender-based violence. He warned that offenders would face the full weight of the law.
Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade (SAN), also described the incident as “reprehensible,” pledging that the government would ensure swift prosecution. “The government is aware of the viral video and we condemn it in its totality. The suspect will be prosecuted without delay,” he said.
Similarly, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, vowed to follow up on the case, assuring residents that justice would be served.
The case has sparked renewed debate about domestic violence in Ogun State and the effectiveness of laws designed to protect vulnerable persons.
