Eko Hot Blog reports that during a visit to the area, the road was observed to be in a severe state of disrepair, marked by slippery mud, deep craters, and erosion channels that make vehicular movement nearly impossible, especially during heavy rainfall.

Local business activities have suffered immensely, with several residents reporting injuries sustained from frequent motorcycle crashes and high expenses incurred from constantly repairing damaged vehicles.
Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking on behalf of the communities, Adesola Adekunle, Chairman of the Otitoleke Community Development Association, explained that self-help initiatives by residents to maintain the road have proved ineffective against persistent flooding.
He noted that constructing a bridge over a stream along the four-kilometre route would open up a vital 10-minute bypass to Mowe and significantly ease transit for thousands of inhabitants.
Motorists and community members urged both the state government and political candidates contesting for leadership positions in the state to prioritize the area in their infrastructure plans, calling for immediate road construction, channelisation of erosion water, and basic public amenities.
