EKO HOT BLOG reports that Okoye returned between the posts at the Bluenergy Stadium after missing matches due to a thigh injury. The goalkeeper delivered a composed performance, keeping a clean sheet to help Udinese secure a point and maintain their mid table position.
The Super Eagles shot stopper had impressed during the March international break before injury ruled him out of the friendly against Jordan national football team.
Any concerns about his fitness were quickly addressed as he returned to the starting line up and produced key saves.
Como created early chances, but Okoye reacted in the 10th minute to stop a low effort from Maximo Perrone. He later intercepted a dangerous pass from Lucas Da Cunha and handled attempts from Nico Paz, while watching a header from Sergi Roberto go just over the bar.
With Udinese under pressure for long periods, Okoye maintained control of his area and organised his defence effectively. His presence helped the team deal with threats from Mergim Vojvoda and Anastasios Douvikas.
The result extended Udinese’s unbeaten run in the league to five matches and ended Como’s five game winning streak.
Speaking after the match, Okoye said, “I’m happy with the clean sheet, but especially with the point. They were strong; it wasn’t easy, but we worked hard during the week and were ready.

“We always watch the game unfold to determine whether to build from the back or launch the ball. We didn’t want to take any risks in the final stages, so we played long.”
Udinese now sit 11th on the table with 40 points.
