Oloja of Epe Installs First Bashorun of Epe Land

History was made in Epe as Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe, installed Engr. Adeniyi Kemi Ogunsanya as the first Bashorun of Epe Land.

Ekohotblog reports that the ceremony, which was marked by traditional rites, drew dignitaries, monarchs, family members, well-wishers, and community members from far and near.

Speaking at the event, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun noted the significance of the title, emphasizing its power and influence in the community.

He explained that the position of Bashorun is a revered one, traditionally associated with leadership and wisdom.

However, he expressed confidence in the choice of Engr. Adeniyi Ogunsanya, citing his numerous contributions to the growth and development of Epe.

“The title of Bashorun is a powerful one, and it is not given lightly. Engr. Adeniyi Ogunsanya has consistently shown his dedication to the progress of our land.

His selflessness and commitment to the community’s welfare make him worthy of this honor,” the monarch stated.

The installation ceremony was part of a series of cultural celebrations commemorating Oba Animashaun’s 80th birthday and 25th coronation anniversary.

The previous day was dedicated to celebrating Epe’s rich traditions and customs, reflecting the monarch’s passion for preserving cultural heritage.

Speaking on the significance of the event, Oba Animashaun remarked, “Promoting our traditions and customs is essential for preserving our identity as a people.

This celebration is not just about installing the Bashorun but also about honoring our heritage and passing it down to future generations.”

Community members and other monarchs in attendance expressed their joy and support for the newly installed Bashorun.

They praised Engr. Ogunsanya for his positive impact on Epe, acknowledging his role in community development and youth empowerment.

One of the community leaders, noted, “Bashorun Adeniyi Ogunsanya is a man of integrity and vision.

His leadership qualities are exceptional, and we are confident that he will continue to contribute positively to our community.”

Another resident, Mrs. Yetunde, added, “He truly deserves this honor. We pray for his longevity and continued wisdom to lead and inspire us.”

With his installation as the first Bashorun of Epe Land, Engr. Adeniyi Kemi Ogunsanya has entered the annals of history, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the leadership structure of Epe.

In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude for the honor and pledged to serve with humility and dedication.

“I am deeply humbled by this honor and the trust placed in me. I promise to uphold the dignity of this title and work tirelessly for the progress of Epe,” Bashorun Ogunsanya stated.

The historic event was celebrated with traditional music, cultural displays, and prayers for peace, unity, and continued prosperity for Epe Land.
