The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kajola Police Station in Odigbo, Ondo State, CSP Nimrod Anaka, has died after reportedly falling ill on his way to the hospital.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the senior officer suddenly took ill and was being rushed to a medical facility. Witnesses said Anaka complained of severe discomfort before collapsing.

Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful as he was confirmed dead before reaching the hospital. His remains have been deposited in a mortuary pending an autopsy.
Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olushola, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), noting that the exact cause of death could only be determined by medical experts. He declined to release further details on Anaka’s age or health history, stressing that speculation would be inappropriate until official medical findings are available.
Sources within Kajola Police Station described the late DPO as a calm and dedicated leader who was committed to maintaining law and order in the community. His death has left officers and residents deeply shocked.

The police command has assured that normal operations at the station will continue, although officers remain in mourning. The command is expected to release additional information after the autopsy is conducted.
The sudden loss of CSP Anaka has sparked discussions on the health and welfare of police personnel in active service. Many in the community and the force have called for improved health checks and better emergency response measures for officers while on duty.
As investigations continue, tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues, community leaders, and residents who worked closely with the late officer. They described him as a man of integrity who served with diligence until his final moments.
