In a move that appears to be in direct response to a strike threat from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Federal Government has appointed Opeyemi Agbaje as the new chairman of the National Pension Commission (PenCom).
According to a report by Eko Hot Blog, the Central Working Committee of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) issued a seven-day ultimatum to the government on August 13. The union demanded the full constitution of the PenCom Governing Board and a comprehensive report on the commission’s funds.

Agbaje, who previously worked in the banking sector, holds a Master’s degree in Law and an MBA. He is the Chief Executive Officer of RTC Advisory Services Ltd and served two terms on the board of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
