Veteran American actor Robert Duvall has died at the age of 95, according to U.S. media reports.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Duvall passed away peacefully at his home in Middleburg, Virginia, on Sunday, a statement from his public relations representatives said on behalf of his wife, Luciana.

In a tribute, she described him as more than his public achievements. “To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller.

To me, he was simply everything,” she said, praising his dedication to his craft and his love for life’s simple pleasures.
She added that he poured himself fully into every character he portrayed, leaving behind performances that would endure for generations.
Over a career spanning more than six decades, Duvall built a reputation for portraying intense and authoritative characters.
He gained widespread recognition for his role as Tom Hagen in The Godfather and for his portrayal of Lieutenant Colonel William Kilgore in Apocalypse Now.
His line, “I love the smell of napalm in the morning,” from the Vietnam War epic became one of the most quoted moments in film history.

The actor earned six Academy Award nominations and won the Oscar for Best Actor in 1983 for his performance in Tender Mercies, where he played a troubled country singer seeking redemption.
Among his other notable roles were appearances in Network and The Great Santini.
Duvall often cited his performance as Augustus McCrae in the television miniseries Lonesome Dove, adapted from Larry McMurtry’s novel, as one of his personal favorites.
