Chaos erupted on Saturday during the Osun State governorship election after a confrontation broke out at the polling unit of the state’s Deputy Governor and Accord Party running mate, Prince Kola Adewusi.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the incident occurred after the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Benjamin Kayode Adereti, arrived at Adewusi’s polling unit.
Adereti had earlier cast his vote at his designated polling unit, Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3, before proceeding to the polling unit of the serving deputy governor.
However, supporters of Adewusi reportedly resisted the APC deputy governorship candidate’s presence, leading to a heated confrontation at the polling location.
The confrontation briefly disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere at the polling unit as supporters exchanged words and tensions escalated.
The situation later eased, while voting continued at the polling location.
The Osun State governorship election is ongoing across the state, with voters casting their ballots at polling units across the South West state.
