Over 300 Shops Destroyed in Kano GSM Market Fire on Eid Day

Tragedy struck the popular Farm Center GSM Market in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State on Sallah Eid Day, as a devastating fire outbreak razed over 300 shops and destroyed goods and properties worth millions of Naira.

Eko Hot  Blog reports that the inferno reportedly started around 2:00 PM in the Dan Sileka building of the market, an established hub for mobile phones and accessories.

The blaze quickly engulfed a large section of the market, causing significant economic losses to traders.

The Kano State Fire Service responded swiftly to the emergency call and successfully contained the fire, preventing further spread to adjacent areas.

Following the incident, the Executive Chairman of Tarauni LGA, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, visited the scene to assess the damage and express his deepest condolences to the affected traders.

He called upon government agencies, relief organizations, and members of the public to lend support and assistance to the victims of the fire.

In addition, Sekure emphasized the importance of implementing proactive measures to avert similar disasters in the future.

He also offered prayers for the affected individuals, beseeching Almighty Allah to grant them fortitude and replenish their losses with even greater blessings.

Ambassador Jamilu Bala Gama, Chairman of the Farm Center GSM Traders Association, and Alhaji Abdula’ziz Usman Mai Tabarma, the Market Managing Director, thanked Hon. Sekure for his timely visit and compassion during the crisis.

They confirmed that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Both market leaders praised the Kano State Fire Service for their quick and courageous intervention, praying for divine protection against any future occurrences.
