Confirming the incident, the chairman of the Community Peace Observers in Bokkos, Mr. Kefas Mallai, said the assailants stormed the villages in a surprise attack, shooting sporadically and causing widespread panic among residents.
“Today, Friday, August 8, 2025, Suwa and Ding’ak communities in Mushere Chiefdom came under heavy attack by terrorists between 1pm and 2pm. Sadly, three persons lost their lives, including Pastor Gideon Katings, Sunday Ringkang, and Meshach Bukata,” Mallai stated.
He further disclosed that one Michael Kamshak and several others sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving medical attention at Cottage Hospital, Bokkos.

The aftermath of the assault has left the communities in disarray, with hundreds of villagers reportedly fleeing their homes for fear of further attacks.
This latest incident adds to a growing list of violent assaults in the Bokkos area, which has experienced a troubling increase in insecurity in recent months.
In July, not less than 14 people were reportedly killed in a similar attack near Chirang village in the same local government area. Community leaders have continued to decry the worsening security situation.
According to Mr. Farmasum Fuddang, Chairman of the Bokkos Cultural Development Forum Vanguard, no fewer than 100 residents have been killed across the area in the past two years. Notably, over 60 individuals were massacred on Christmas Eve in 2023 during coordinated raids on several villages.
Local stakeholders are once again calling on security agencies to step up their efforts and restore lasting peace to the troubled region.
