In its judgment, the appellate court stated that Bayero was denied a fair hearing in the high court’s ruling delivered on July 15, 2024, due to the “shoddy manner” in which the proceedings were conducted. Mustapha emphasized that Bayero was not given a hearing notice, preventing him from presenting his case, which the court deemed unjust.

The panel further ruled that all courts must provide equal opportunities for all parties to ensure fairness. The proceedings against Bayero were described as a “travesty of justice.”
