EKO HOT BLOG reports that Obi confirmed the development in a statement posted on his 𝕏 account on Wednesday, noting that the screening exercise took place on Tuesday and lasted more than two and a half hours.
He explained that the screening committee, chaired by former Ebonyi State Governor Sam Egwu, thoroughly reviewed his academic certificates, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) documentation, and age declaration records.
According to him, the committee also engaged him on his policy direction and vision for Nigeria, as well as the kind of leadership he intends to provide if elected president.
Obi said the process was rigorous but transparent, adding that it reflected the internal democratic standards of the party.
He commended the committee for its professionalism and the leadership of the party for maintaining what he described as a credible and orderly screening process.
He wrote, “Yesterday, May 19th, in Abuja, I attended the Presidential screening organised by our party, which took over two and a half hours. They carefully reviewed all my documents, including my degree certificates, NYSC credentials, and age declarations.
“During the process, I also addressed questions regarding my vision for a new Nigeria and the type of leadership our nation urgently needs right now. Following this, I was cleared and received the presidential nomination form I had previously paid for.
