PHOTOS: Lagos Begins Palliative Works On Eko Bridge One Week After Reopening
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government has begun palliative works on both sides of the tail end of the Eko Bridge inward Apongbon, CMS, and outer Marina.
The works came on Sunday, about a week after the government reopened the Eko Bridge following a 15-month closure
The bridge had been closed to execute extensive repairs following a fire incident.
Before Sunday’s road closure and subsequent palliative works, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Lagos State, Engr. Abdulhafiz Toriola, had on Saturday said the route would be closed for 24 hours for the effort.
In a tweet Sunday evening, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) workers were working on the bridge “to ease the commute of people who ply the Eko bridge daily.”
“These palliative works will ensure residents can have a seamless experience on the road without further disruption,” he said.
The palliative works are expected to conclude Monday morning.
