Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested four suspected cultists allegedly linked to a criminal gang accused of terrorising residents of Ibadan, the state capital.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.

According to Ayanlade, the suspects were apprehended following credible intelligence that led police operatives to their location.
The arrested suspects were identified as Salawu Sarafa, Yusuf Tajudeen, Farouq Ariyo and Adebayo Awosemo.
He explained that officers acted swiftly on the intelligence, mobilising to the scene where the four suspects were successfully arrested.

“Acting swiftly on the actionable intelligence, the operatives mobilised to the location and successfully apprehended four suspected members of the gang, namely: Salawu Sarafa, Yusuf Tajudeen, Farouq Ariyo and Adebayo Awosemo,” the statement read.
The police spokesperson added that several items believed to be connected to the suspects’ activities were recovered during the operation and have been taken into custody as exhibits.
Ayanlade noted that the suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue to determine the extent of their involvement in the alleged criminal activities.
The Command reiterated its commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
