EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest adjustment will raise the refinery’s gantry price from N1,570 to N1,670 per litre, effective from midnight on August 21, 2026.
The increase represents a 6.4 per cent rise in the refinery’s diesel price after the company maintained its previous rate in recent weeks.
Under the new pricing arrangement, diesel purchased from the Dangote refinery will sell for N1,670 per litre.
The new rate is N21 higher than the current landing cost of imported diesel, which stands at N1,649 per litre.
However, the refinery’s new price remains below the N1,700 per litre rate listed by several Lagos based depots on August 20.
The affected depots include African Terminal, Integrated, Duport, Ibachem, Gulf Treasure and Pivot.
The latest adjustment comes amid rising international crude oil prices, which have continued to influence energy market conditions.
Brent crude has recently traded above $93 per barrel, with tensions involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz adding pressure to the global oil market.
The increase in the refinery’s diesel price could have implications for businesses and consumers who rely heavily on diesel powered generators and vehicles, particularly amid continued concerns over energy costs.
The Dangote refinery has in recent months played a significant role in supplying refined petroleum products to the Nigerian market, with its pricing decisions closely monitored by fuel marketers, businesses and consumers.
Meanwhile, the Association of Energy Policy and Development Consultants has withdrawn its earlier call for the removal of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari.

The association said its decision followed further investigations into the company’s financial management, which it described as showing a “high level of transparency”.
