'Keke' Loan Scheme
A police inspector, Ajele Oloyede, has reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a ceramics company in Igbesa, Ogun State, where he was assigned as part of the security team.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the tragic incident occurred on Thursday.
Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, revealed that an officer from Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, Tolorunloju Stephen, discovered the situation upon returning from Ikeja around 1:20 p.m.
Stephen reportedly found Oloyede resting his head on a table inside the security office and inquired about his condition. The inspector assured him that he was fine.
After placing his bag and pistol on the table, Stephen stepped into the restroom. Moments later, a gunshot rang out.
Odutola stated that upon rushing back, Stephen allegedly found Oloyede lying in a pool of blood.
“With the help of private security personnel, the wounded officer was immediately taken to Ota General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by the doctor on duty,” Odutola said.

Police officers visited the scene, recovered the deceased’s pistol, and deposited his body at Ota General Hospital for autopsy. His family is currently being notified.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran for further investigation.
