The criminal prosecution, formally instituted by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, details a malicious, calculated pattern of digital warfare launched by the defendant across his multi-tiered social media networks.
According to the structural charge sheet cited on Wednesday, Hammed used his digital reach to deliberately circulate highly provocative, insulting, and fabricated narratives aimed at tearing down the 26-year-old widow.
Despite the gravity of the allegations presented by state prosecutors, the defendant entered a definitive plea of not guilty to all counts, prompting the court to review his bail parameters.
The presiding magistrate granted the TikToker a stringent bail package, requiring him to present two reliable sureties who must each provide certified bank statements displaying an active cash balance of no less than ₦700,000.
Under the court’s strict terms, one of the verifying sureties must be an active Lagos State civil servant, while the other must be a direct blood relative of the defendant.
Additionally, both designated individuals are legally obligated to present verified evidence of consistent personal tax compliance before the defendant can be officially processed for release from custody.
The prosecution’s case rests on a series of documented digital transmissions spanning several weeks.
The official records state that on February 8, 2026, Hammed published a viral broadcast maliciously claiming that Omowunmi was planning a covert escape from Nigeria to evade justice before the conclusion of ongoing investigations into her late husband’s tragic September 2023 demise.
This act is considered a severe, punishable offense under the amended provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.

Follow-up investigations further revealed that on February 11 and February 19, the defendant aggressively pushed content accusing the widow of admitting to infidelity during court proceedings and falsely claimed her private files had been leaked to the public.
Police legal teams further argued that Hammed’s cyberbullying went beyond digital boundaries, actively jeopardizing the widow’s physical safety.
On March 14, the defendant published an explicit video featuring deeply derogatory claims regarding a hidden agenda, which directly incited a public mob to violently confront and nearly assault Omowunmi on March 15.
The final, damning count of the charge sheet accused the TikToker of circulating non-consensual nude images to inflict maximum emotional and psychological trauma on the grieving mother.
The judicial matter has been formally adjourned for consecutive trial hearings, keeping public attention glued to the legal fallout surrounding Mohbad’s legacy.
