EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking during a telephone interview with TVC, he said Adelabu had not submitted any resignation letter and urged the public to disregard the circulating claims.
He noted that a purported resignation letter dated March 26, 2026, allegedly addressed to President Bola Tinubu, has been trending on social media. The letter claimed that the minister stepped down to pursue his ambition of contesting for the office of Governor of Oyo State.
However, Tunji insisted that the document is fake and does not reflect the position of the minister. He maintained that Adelabu remains committed to his duties and ongoing reforms within the power sector.
He also cautioned individuals behind the reports to desist from spreading unverified information capable of misleading the public.
The clarification comes amid reports that President Tinubu directed cabinet members intending to contest in the next election cycle to resign on or before March 31, in line with provisions of the Electoral Act ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tunji reiterated that the circulating letter suggesting Adelabu’s resignation is false and should be ignored.
