A lawyer and partner , Olajide Oyewole Law Firm , Sandra Oyewole maintained that the importance and role of intellectual property within the design and creative space could not be undermined .
Speaking at the 5 th edition of ‘ The Guide ’, a two -day event with seasoned speakers on a wide range issues , such as finance and technology , tax freedom , human resource solutions, and money management, she said: “ It is important to understand the laws, what the economic and exclusive rights that belong to the creatives are and how they are applicable to what the designers do , be it copyright , trademark or patent.” According to her, the laws protect the creator and consumer .
Similarly, the President , Interior Designers Association of Nigeria ( IDAN) , Omon Mordi underscored the importance of providing business and career development tools for creative professionals and service providers, who work in the interior design industry .
She urged participants to take advantage of the many advices , information and guidance covering a broad spectrum of business tools for personal development.
