EKO HOT BLOG reports that the movement, led by Ibrahim El Zakzaky and popularly known as Shiites, mobilised after claims circulated online that Khamenei was killed during coordinated United States and Israel strikes on Iran. As of the time of filing this report, the alleged killing had not been independently verified by international authorities.
Dozens of IMN members marched through sections of the state, chanting solidarity slogans and waving Iranian flags. Protesters carried placards bearing inscriptions such as “We Stand With Iran” and “Free Iran,” alongside messages critical of the United States and Israel.
The group described the reported assassination as an act of global injustice and imperial aggression.
In a statement shared among supporters, the movement expressed sorrow over what it called the martyrdom of the Iranian leader and pledged continued solidarity with Iran.
“We strongly condemn the United States–Israel aggression against Iran. The blood of martyrs will not be shed in vain,” part of the statement read.
During the procession, demonstrators chanted anti United States and anti Israel slogans as they vowed resistance against what they described as Western interference in Middle Eastern affairs.
The protest reflects the longstanding ideological alignment between members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria and the Iranian government, a relationship that has repeatedly attracted scrutiny from Nigerian authorities.
Over the years, the group has organised rallies in solidarity with Iranian causes and consistently criticised United States and Israeli foreign policies.

Security agencies were said to be monitoring the situation, though no incidents of violence were reported as of press time.
