EKO HOT BLOG reports that the French champions delivered a statement performance in East Rutherford, with Fabian Ruiz scoring twice, while Ousmane Dembélé and Gonçalo Ramos each added a goal to complete the rout. It was a clinical display from Luis Enrique’s men, who now book a place in Sunday’s final against Chelsea.
PSG’s dominance was clear from the outset, with Ruiz opening the scoring early in the first half. Dembele added a second just before the break, before Ramos and Ruiz sealed the emphatic win in the second half.
The result ends Real Madrid’s campaign in disappointing fashion, with the Spanish giants unable to mount any serious resistance. The defeat also means Madrid will not play again in the tournament, as FIFA opted not to schedule a third-place play-off in this year’s expanded Club World Cup format.
FIFA explained the decision in a statement, noting, “There will be no third-place match at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. This allows clubs and players to return to their regular schedules and prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 season.”
Real Madrid, managed by Xabi Alonso, will now head back to Spain and begin pre-season preparations ahead of their league opener against Osasuna. They have yet to announce any pre-season friendlies.
PSG, meanwhile, will take on Chelsea in Sunday’s final, before returning to France to face Nantes in their Ligue 1 opener. Prior to that, they are also scheduled to face Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup on August 13.
