Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva on a two-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 30, 2028.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Spanish club announced the deal in a statement released on Tuesday, confirming that an agreement had been reached with the 31-year-old midfielder.

“Real Madrid CF and Bernardo Silva have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2028,” the club said.
The move sees Silva reunite with Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho, who recently took charge of the club and has begun reshaping the squad ahead of the new season.
Silva joined Real Madrid as a free agent after ending a successful nine-year spell at Manchester City, where he established himself as one of the club’s most influential players and served as captain during his final season.
During his time at the Etihad Stadium, the Portugal international won six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League trophy, a FIFA Club World Cup, three FA Cups, five League Cups and three Community Shields.
Manchester City also secured both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during Silva’s final campaign with the club.
Before completing his move to Madrid, Silva had been linked with several European clubs, including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. However, he opted to continue his career in the Spanish capital.
The midfielder becomes Real Madrid’s second signing of the summer transfer window following the arrival of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth £52 million.
Real Madrid are looking to strengthen their squad after a disappointing campaign that saw them finish eight points behind La Liga champions Barcelona and exit the UEFA Champions League at the quarter-final stage without winning a major trophy.
Silva is currently representing Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is expected to play a key role for his country before linking up with his new teammates in Madrid.

The club is also reportedly pursuing Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries as Mourinho continues his rebuilding project. France international Ibrahima Konate has also been linked with a move to the Bernabeu following his departure from Liverpool.
Meanwhile, defender Antonio Rudiger recently extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2027, further strengthening the club’s plans for the future.
