Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Borno State have called on Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to set aside their differences, embrace party unity and realign their loyalty with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The stakeholders made the call on Thursday while addressing journalists in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking on behalf of the group, the Chairman of the stakeholders, Grema Kyari, commended Wike for what he described as his firm commitment to discipline, constitutionalism and institutional integrity within the party.
Kyari, who is also a member of the PDP National Working Caretaker Committee, praised the Independent National Electoral Commission for rejecting the outcome of the Ibadan convention that produced Barrister Kabiru Turaki as the National Chairman of the party.
According to him, the electoral body’s action was in line with the law and helped to protect internal democracy within the PDP.
The stakeholders also applauded the Abdulrahman Mohammed led National Working Caretaker Committee for dissolving the Borno State PDP Executive Committee and approving the constitution of a Borno State PDP Working Caretaker Committee.
They described the decision as bold, timely and lawful, noting that it had restored confidence among party members across the state.
The group said the move reflected the long standing aspirations of PDP members in Borno State who had been demanding justice, fairness and adherence to party rules.
Kyari said the role played by the FCT minister in stabilising the party could not be overstated, especially amid what he described as sustained pressure from some party leaders.
“Wike’s steadfast commitment to discipline, constitutionalism and institutional integrity remains unprecedented, especially in the face of sustained pressure and actions from governors Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde, supported by Barrister Kabiru Turaki, which have deepened the internal crisis of our party,” he said.
The stakeholders urged aggrieved leaders to place the party’s interest above personal ambition and work towards unity ahead of future political contests.

They expressed optimism that genuine reconciliation and strict adherence to party rules would help reposition the PDP for electoral success nationwide.
