EKO HOT BLOG reports that the incident occurred barely three days after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Jos, raising fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in the state.
The victims were identified as Luka Sandu Pam, 36, Samuel Davou, 38, and Deme Saidu, 35. They were reportedly ambushed while returning home from Gero on a motorcycle.
The Gyel Youth Leader, Dung Davou, said the victims were among about 15 youths returning from a mining site when they ran into the attack.
According to him, the group came under sudden gunfire from suspected armed herdsmen, forcing others to flee.
“We started hearing sporadic gunshots, and everyone scattered. Unfortunately, three of our people were killed,” he said.
Davou called on authorities to urgently intervene, describing the attacks as repeated and unprovoked.
The latest incident follows a similar attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, where over 10 people were killed and several others injured by gunmen last Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, said the recent violence occurred because both residents and security personnel were caught off guard after a period of relative peace.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the governor said the attackers studied the community and mimicked operations of the National Drug Enforcement Agency to strike unexpectedly.
He described the attack as unfortunate but expressed hope that it would not become a recurring pattern.
